At Watt Laser , we recommend Laser Hair Removal treatments for clients over 18 years old. This is because hair growth has not fully developed due to changing hormonal levels. However you are under 18 years old this is possible.
Please speak with your parent or guardian about laser hair removal as they will be required to attend your consultation and sign a consent form.

Results from laser hair removal are not 100% permanent for the rest of your life. The reduction you will achieve is permanent but you may see fine, light regrowth that can be successfully re-targeted intermittently every year or so.
The area needs to be shaved 12-24 hours before the treatment as the hair needs to be blunt and the right length for the laser to treat it effectively. Shaving a minimum of 12hours before reduces the risk of inflammation.
The follicle must also be intact and plucking or waxing can often damage the follicle leaving a poor environment for the laser to treat.

It generally takes 6-8 SESSION SPACED OUT 4 WEEKS APART, FOR OPTIMAL RESULTS.
However, this can vary depending on you as everyone’s hair grows at a different rate.
Factors such as age and hormones can also affect your hair growth rate.
The size of the area being treated and hair density also affects how many sessions are needed.
You can expect to get rid of up to 25% of hair growth on your first treatment. As you continue your treatments your re-growth will reduce.
It will take 5 to 14 days for hairs to fall out. This process can be speeded up by regular gentle exfoliation.
You can shave between treatments if required , this will not interfere with the effectiveness of the treatment.
Multiple sessions are needed as each individual hair goes through its own growth cycle. The laser can only treat hair when it’s in the right growth cycle. The hair must be attached to the base of the follicle.

An important part of your treatment is PRE - CARE
*The day before the treatment shave the hair in the area to be treated
*No waxing, threading, epilating , tweezing or bleaching the area for at least two weeks prior to treatment.
WHY ?
Our Laser needs to be able to find as much hair as possible still attached to the base of the hair follicle.
*No exposure to the Sun for two weeks prior to the treatment, if you are aware your treatment is pending then use SPF 50 in the treatment area.
*Avoid sunburn -The initial treatment will be less effective because of changes to the natural melanin and your skin will be much more sensitive leading to possible hypersensitivity.
*Fake tan is an absolute no for 7 days prior to treatment. We need to see the real colour of your skin for maximum results.
*The skin must be free from make up,creams,lotions and deodorant. Wipes will be available just in case.
***Attending your appointment. Please wear loose fitting clothes to ensure no heat is trapped after treatment as this may cause irritation.

*Redness and swelling of the skin is common and can last up to 48 hours, the Aloe Vera Gel will help calm this.
